Train the Trainer - Preparing RACP candidates for the clinical examinations
The Alfred Hospital achieves consistently high success rates for the RACP clinical examinations. Much of this success is based on the training given to our consultants and advanced trainees on preparing our candidates for the examinations. If you are interested in participating in registrar training, then this course will provide you with the skills to assist your registrar in acquiring the necessary examination skills both in regard to the exam format and providing targeted feedback.
Course 1 - Approach to the Long Case RACP Examination 2023
The Alfred Hospital traditionally has outstanding results in the FRACP Clinical Examination, with success rates consistently exceeding state and national averages. We are excited to share this long case preparation course with external applicants.
Course 2 - Approach to the Short Case RACP Examination 2023
Enrollments open February 2023.
The pandemic has led to a reduction in patient face to face contacts for basic physician trainees. This continues to be an issue with a greater number of telehealth consultations in ambulatory care clinics. This has made it more difficult to prepare adequately for the short case component of the RACP clinical examinations.
We have designed a series of online modules which include a step-by-step practical guide to the different short cases commonly encountered in the RACP examinations including consented patients who have given their time to improve the clinical education of trainees across Australia and New Zealand.
Course 3 - Approach to the Specialty Long Case Presentation 2023
Enrollments open February 2023
Alfred Health is home to many of the statewide services including transplant, cystic fibrosis and haemophilia. As such, we have an array of highly experienced clinicians that will take us through these subspecialty areas that are commonly encountered in the RACP clinical long case examinations and yet you may not have the opportunity to participate in the care of patients with these conditions at your health service.
Clinical Examination skills for Medical Students
Course enrollments open January 2023.
During the pandemic, many medical students had restricted access to usual clinical skills training. We have put together a short course with some useful tips on examination skills as taught by our physicians to prepare you for future practice.
